Wingspread Farm Pastry

Pastries made here at the farm are inspired by the pastries I grew up with and loved.
For me growing up, dinner might have consisted of Palacsinta (crepes) with jam, or some kolbasz with fresh peppers and a slice of Almás lepény (Hungarian apple pie). I loved Hungarian Krémes, a square of delicious vanilla custard with thin pastry and a light dusting of powdered sugar.
None of them were too sweet, just simple and delicious.
Special occasion tortes and cakes had richer fillings, with added chocolate and nuts.

The varied baked goods at the farm reflect my cultural influences, Hungarian by birth, English, by way of New Zealand and American, where I settled. Throw in the creative imagination wildcard…
It’s always going to be surprising, fun and delicious, even the wonky experiments taste good!


Hungarian Style

Aranygaluska (Golden Dumpling)
Sweet dough balls rolled in sugar, layered with crushed
walnuts and apricot jam. Topped with apricot glaze
and sugared walnut sprinkles.

Csereszyne Torta (Cherry )
Sweet dough balls with slivered almonds, rolled in sugar, layered with cherry jam. Topped with a lemon glaze, with a dollop of cherry sauce and almond nut.

Malna Torta (Raspberry )
Sweet dough balls, rolled in sugar, layered with raspberry jam. Topped with a rum cream glaze, and a dollop of raspberry jam.

Sacher Torte (Chocolate Strawberry)
Sweet dough balls rolled in sugar and cocoa, layered with strawberry jam. Topped with a chocolate glaze and a dollop of strawberry jam.

Dobos Torta (Chocolate Caramel & Nut)
Sweet dough balls rolled in sugar, layered with a creamy chocolate filling. Topped with caramel glaze, and walnut, caramel hazelnut topping

Linzer Torta (Chocolate Berry Jam)
Sweet dough balls with slivered almonds, rolled in sugar, layered with red berry jam. Topped with a chocolate glaze, with a dollop of jam and almond nut.

Blueberry Almond
Sweet dough balls with slivered almonds, rolled in sugar, layered with blueberry jam. Topped with a lemon glaze, with a dollop of blueberry sauce and almond nut.

Peach Pecan
Sweet dough balls rolled in brown sugar and spices, layered with sugared pecans and Peach Jam. Topped with a peach cream glaze and pecan nut.

Chocolate Hazelnut
Sweet dough balls rolled in sugar, layered with chocolate hazelnut filling. Topped with a hazelnut glaze, and a rich chocolate drizzle.

Apple Raisin
Sweet dough balls rolled in sugar and cinnamon, layered with raisin and apple jam. Topped with a cinnamon sugar glaze and a dollop of apple raisin jam.

Cinnamon Sugar
Sweet dough balls rolled in cinnamon sugar, layed with cinnamon sugar dust. Topped with a cream cheese glaze,
and a buttery cinnamon sugar drizzle

Triple Chocolate

Mango Papaya
Sweet dough balls rolled in sugar, layered with a fruity tropical mango papaya jam, topped with a mango lemon glaze and a cream drizzle

Passionfruit
